The most common errors in performing the crawl swimming method among children in the second and third grades from the Benešov district and their correction.
Dastychová, Martina ; Chvostek, Lukáš (advisor) ; Svobodová, Irena (referee)
Title: The most common mistakes in crawl swimming in second and third school year from Benešov district and their remedy. Objective: The aim of this work will be to determine the most common mistakes that children in seconad and third grades make in the technical execution of the crawl swimming stroke. Methods: The research conducted for this work was supervised by the supervisor of the work, and an evaluation scale was used during the pocess. The obtained results were taken down in tabels and graph for clarity. Results: Based on the evaluation of the used scale, the most frequently recurring errors in the given movement category were revealed. In the correct body position, students made mistakes by the positioning their bodies incorrectly so that the water level crossed their forehead while swimming. In the activity of the upper limbs, the incorrect submersion of the arm dominated, which did not occur at the shoulder level. In the lower limbs, irregular movement and coordination prevailed. Regardless of gender, two most common mistakes were observed in breathing - students did not breath to the side and were unable to time inhalation correctly. KEY WORDS: swimming, crawl, mistakes in swimming, rating scale, swimming school, remedial exercises, younger school age
Comparative analysis of selected coordinate indicators in front crawl swiming technique and crawling
Vodička, Radek ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Kračmar, Bronislav (referee)
AABBSSTTRRAACCTT Title: Comparative analysis of selected coordinate indicators in front crawl swimming technique and crawling. Purposes: The first aim of thesis is to compare coordinate indictors of average swimming cycle and average crawling cycle. Methods: Surface electromyography of muscular activity combined with cinematography analysis used synchronized video recording. Intraindividual comparative analysis and subsequent interindividual comparison of timing muscular activation in one average swimming and crawling cycle. Results: The timing of muscular activity of m. pectoralis major and m. latissimus dorsi during swimming cycle was identical for all probands. This phenomenon was not found in crawling . Key words: Swimming technique, Front Crawl, crawling, EMG, muscle, locomotion, shoulder girdle
Swim Smooth System and Swimming Specialization
Minaříková, Gabriela ; Pokorná, Jitka (advisor) ; Čechovská, Irena (referee)
Title: Swim Smooth System and Swimming Specialization Objectives: Along with The Australian Swim Smooth Swim Type Coaching System criteria assign particular swim types to natural predispositions of selected elite swimmers and thus confirm suitability of their specialization. Methods: This work was carried out as a methodological study that explores both the suitability of specialization in a selected group of elite swimmers and the potential benefits of the Swim Smooth Swim Type System compared to the more commonly used method of one swim type. The study involved measuring, displaying, monitoring, evaluation, analysis and correlation. We measured the stroke length and stroke rate. We observed individual style of freestyle technique. We evaluated the Swim Types, somatotype, personality traits of extroversion and swimmers' potential to either speed, middle distance or endurance performance. We performed analysis of the development of swimmers' personal records in their main discipline. We determined the degree of correlation among particular Swim Type criteria that determine Swim Smooth swim types. We evaluated the swimmers' specialization suitability and outlined way of their further development. Results: Swim Smooth Swim Type System revealed the inadequacy of specialization of one swimmer. For all...
The aplication of CSS in swimming flume
Cagaň, Štěpán ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Chrzanowská, Babeta (referee)
Title: Application of CSS (Critical Swimming Speed) in the swimming flume. Objectives: Purpose of our pilot study was to find out, if load during swimming on speed of anaerobic threshold in the flume on level validated by accredited workplace corresponds with load during swimming in the swimming pool. Methods: For verification of our purpose, for each proband we first determined speed of anaerobic threshold, using Critical Swimming Speed protocol. Subsequently we monitored values of blood lactate and heart rate during swimming on anaerobic threshold speed level in the pool and thereafter in the flume. We have compared measured values. Results: We found out, that load in the flume is much lower, than load in the pool. We also found out, that stream of water in flume is not constant. Keywords: flume, swimming, swimming simulator, lactate, front crawl stroke, critical swimming speed
The impact of nonspecific exercise on the coordination of the upper extremities in swimming style crawl
Hejkalová, Barbora ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Pokorná, Jitka (referee)
Title: The impact of nonspecific exercise on the coordination of the upper extremities in swimming style crawl Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine whether the exercise alternating circling of the upper extremities in standing applied during the swimming lessons has impact on improving technically swimming style crawl. Methods: The research involved 30 probands of the 1st degree of Faculty of Physical Education of Sport Charles University who have never taken part in swimming training. During the research was used only non-invasive methods. The measurement of height of body, upper extremity range and body composition on TANITA device. Testing was carried out in the laboratories of sports motorics at Faculty of Physical Education of Sport in Charles' University. Than testing in swimming pool was attended a swimming test at the distance of 25 and 50 m. Probands were testing in time and it was calculated number of strokes in a swimming test at the distance of 25 to 50 m. Results: In the swimming test of 25 m distance it was statistically significant change in overall performance, only a high degree of material significance was confirmed in the frequency of the strokes. In the swimming test of 50 m distance we recorded a statistically significant change in the overall performance only in...
Teaching children the freestyle swimming stroke
Vajglová, Kateřina ; Svobodová, Irena (advisor) ; Kuhnová, Věra (referee)
The aim of this study is to compare two groups of children both practicing the freestyle swimming stroke. One group attended the Juklík swimming club from an early age and the second group attended swimming lessons provided through primary school. An integral part of this study was to compare the teaching methods, preparations and objectives used in the two models. Results of these observations are displayed in the form of graphs based on the results of an identical swimming test. KEYWORDS Swim training, swimming strokes, freestyle, swimming, children, methodology, didactics, educational programs, preschool age, school age
Swimming performance of modern pentathlonists in U15 category in the years 2010 - 2015
Szmek, Marek ; Chrzanowská, Babeta (advisor) ; Kramperová, Veronika (referee)
Title: Swimming performance of modern pentathlonists in U15 category in the years 2010 - 2015. Objective: The aim is to determine whether after 2010, when it was started the cooperation of the Czech Union of Modern Pentathlon with swimming sections, there was a positive change in the level of swimming performances of youth category U15 in the years 2010 - 2015. At the same time determine, whether was lifted memberships of modern pentathlonists (the number of clubs, the number of competitors). Methods: Comparison method for comparing performance results, the method of mathematical and statistical for processing of obtained data. Results: We found, that the swimming performance in modern pentathlon, due to this cooperation, in the surveyed category U15, has not improved. Furthermore, we found, that the influence of this cooperation between the Czech Union of Modern Pentathlon and chosen Swimming clubs, has lifted the number of competitors, who actively participates in the modern pentathlon competitions. Methods: The historical method was used in the search for sources of historical data in the development of swimming and the processing of individual Olympic Games. It consisted of analyzing historical facts, examining sources and creating an overview of developments. Based on the search and processing of individual performances, graphs were prepared and then the results were compared. Outcome: From the analysis of performance, we found that in the period from 1924 to 2016, men improved by 19%, which represents 11.42 s, and women by 27%, which is 19.70 s. The results of the research show that the development of men's performance slowed down while women's performance is still improving....
